A native son of Seattle, Washington, warm-silk lyricist/vocalist Spencer Shangrow has natural grace with music, his words and voice soothing the listener and aching with truth, emotion, and desire.
Only 22 years old, Spencer’s latest singles “Let You Go” and “Preoccupied” are blowing up as summer bangers and spreading fast in buzz-fueled playlists and added to mixes by active fans and leading DJs internationally. He has already become a very successful artist in the Pacific Northwest, the tracks he’s worked on with collaborators Justin Hartinger and Fluencie having aggressively infiltrated streaming services.
Spencer's music is currently being placed at Amazon, NBC, and for Victoria’s Secret.
Spencer learned the piano at age seven and started writing his own songs shortly thereafter. His love for Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, and Pharrell Williams deep in heart, Spencer’s extraordinary song-craft is also in his blood, and you can hear his passion for it flow through every line he sings and every note created and expressed. The nephew of legendary Seattle conductor and teacher George Shangrow (Orchestra Seattle and Seattle Chamber Singers). This strong musical DNA feels developed throughout his prolific creation of a vast repertoire of diverse musical styles.
Blending strong soul-pop bliss with touches of trap, Spencer often sells out shows, and has performed live in unpredictable formats, including everything from intimate and intense acoustic-driven slow blazers to full on, non-stop dance parties. Spencer is capable of transfixing audiences at packed out festival fields with his fierce words and creatively flowing compositions — or seducing them with simply beautiful singing and mindful playing.
Spencer has played out with fellow next-level pop artists like Mantee Commune, Kyle, Joey Badass, Terrance Brown, Gifted Gab, and Cosmos at clubs and gatherings like Sky Church, Washington State University, Q NightClub, and Seattle’s youth venue Vera Project.
